Empowering Minority Girls in South Fulton

Who We Are

The Sunflower Crown Academy Foundation is a South Fulton–rooted nonprofit dedicated to empowering minority girls through education, leadership development, cultural pride, and community uplift.

The Foundation

The Foundation is the heart of our work — the place where ideas become programs, and programs become impact. We build initiatives that uplift girls and strengthen families through education, leadership development, cultural enrichment, and community partnerships. Our focus is long‑term: creating systems, opportunities, and support networks that help South Fulton’s girls grow into confident, capable young women who know their worth and walk in their brilliance.

The Academy is our future private school, inspired by the legacy of Mary McLeod Bethune and rooted in the belief that education is liberation. It will be a culturally affirming, academically rigorous environment where minority girls are nurtured, challenged, and celebrated. The Academy will offer leadership training, STEM and arts enrichment, cultural studies, wellness programs, and a sisterhood‑centered approach that prepares girls to lead in their homes, schools, and communities..

The Academy

The Sunflower Crown Gala is our signature leadership and scholarship event — a celebration of brilliance, culture, and community. More than a pageant, it is a rite of passage: a space where girls step into confidence, showcase their gifts, and receive mentorship and support. The Gala fuels our scholarships, youth programs, and community initiatives, ensuring that every girl who participates leaves with pride, purpose, and a deeper sense of who she is.
